Welcome to the Mizzou Swim Dive Alums web site!

LAST LAP in the NAT was an enormous success

NOW IT IS TIME FOR “A SEPTEMBER TO REMEMBER”
CELEBRATING 40 YEARS OF MISSOURI SWIMMING!!!!

Register on line or by mail so we know who and how many to expect…but given the responses we have been getting, we are expecting a group at least twice as big as the Last Lap in the Nat. Call the contacts if you have any questions. We really want to see you in Columbia September 23 and 24.

——————————————————————————–

Hopefully you have visited the site previously and already know that this is an unbelievably exciting time for the University of Missouri Swimming and Diving program. To recap and summarize:

• Upcoming season will be the 40th consecutive season for Mizzou Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving (see the rosters –updated recently- of nearly all 40 years of mens teams and 30 years of women’s teams).

• A new state of the art, undeniably beautiful indoor 50 meter pool and full tower diving well opened in June, 05 (see the two links to the left to get an idea of the place – but ya gotta see it in person –better yet – swim in it at our reunion in September to fully believe it!!!!).

• Last Lap at the Nat – Our April back to campus event was great fun and a great success. Over 50 swimming/diving alums took one last spin in the tidal waves of the old and beloved Natatorium with an exhausting workout of 5 x 50 on the one and a half under the still intimidating whip of Coach Goldfarb. While the swimmers swam, diving alums reconstituted their suicidal ways on the high dive, touching the ceiling and somehow not landing on the deck. With a tour of campus, and a tour of the new pool, then Happy Hour at Otto’s, all that attended had a great time reconnecting and sharing old times. (See the Last Lap in the Nat link to the left for pictures from the pool to the bar and to read the Columbia Missourian article).

• Coach Hoffer has had a very successful recruiting year bringing in 12 new women to the team, all of which will make an immediate impact on the team and 11 new men. (see the team website links to the left for info on each new recruit).

• For September, we are planning an All Team Reunion, entitled “A September to Remember”. Every swim dive alum that we can find, from all forty years worth, male and female, will converge on Columbia to open the new pool, have the biggest and best Alum Swim Meet ever (coach Hoffer is giving the Alums the honors of being the first to swim “in competition” in the new pool) , and to celebrate the 40 years of the program by honoring Coach Joe Goldfab for his 23 years of service to the program.

• The Alums are rallying behind Coach Hoffer by helping fund the acquisition of additional training equipment and locker room sizzle. (see Brian’s Wish List to the left)

Therefore, with all that is going on, it is natural and appropriate that the SWIM and DIVE Alums reconnect with each other, with the team and with MIZZOU. Hopefully this web site will assist you in making those renewed connections.

Below are links to the rosters for each of the 40 men’s teams and the 30 women’s team that have worn the black and gold of the MU Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving program. There are approximately 800 swimming and diving alums. We have located about 475 of them. We will not rest until we have addresses for everyone. We will share contact information to facilitate your reconnection. But we need your help in locating our “lost” alumni. Click on any or all of the team roster years to see a copy of the original media guide rosters and to see which of your teammates are “lost”. There is a link to update your contact information or to submit info on “lost” alumni.

Thank you for your interest and we hope to see you September 23-24 for our Reunion Events!!
